What you will do
We cover all the major events: The Nazi occupation that turned the Czechoslovak First Republic, one of Europe’s most progressive and industrialized states, into a nightmare, the life and suffering during Nazi rule, the Czech uprising, the fate of the German minority, the Communist coup and letdown, the euphoria of the Prague Spring, the trauma of the Warsaw Pact invasion, the grey years of Normalization, the persecution of the Plastic People of the Universe, Charta 77, Václav Havel and the eclectic bunch of dissidents swept to power by the Velvet Revolution of 1989 and, for now, returned the government to the people.
What to expect
This tour provides a moving, fascinating and entertaining account of the major events of the times from the perspective of Prague and the Czech people. The city has fascinating stories to tell about the clashes of the great movements of the century and the power of the powerless.

Un must à Prague. J'ai eu une merveilleuse visite à pied de 2,5 heures avec le guide Tony. La ville a une histoire importante et substantielle de la Seconde Guerre mondiale avec de nombreux points de repère significatifs à voir et à observer. En si peu de temps, Tony a fait un travail magnifique en expliquant avec enthousiasme et connaissance l'histoire de la République tchèque à l'époque de la Seconde Guerre mondiale et du communisme. L'un des points forts de mon voyage à Prague.

Très bonne visite avec Tony, un contenu très intéressant, des points de vue différents que l'on ne trouve pas toujours dans les livres académiques ou spécialisés. Sujet compliqué très bien présenté, très bon rapport qualité-prix

Déçu que l'abri souterrain contre les bombes sous le règne communiste n'ait pas été inclus. Il serait beaucoup plus efficace d'accélérer le rythme et d'inclure davantage d'informations sur les retombées du communisme en République tchèque.
