Tour-Übersicht

We begin at the corner of Adderley and Wale Street, at the Slave Lodge, where the Dutch East India Company housed the people it owned — and end at the Company's Garden, planted in 1652 to provision passing ships and dug largely by the people held five minutes down the road.

The route:
- Church Square & the Groote Kerk (the auction ground, memorial stones, and the church whose congregation left enslaved attendants waiting outside)
- The Slave Church on Long Street, the Sendinggestig, built for those the other churches wouldn't seat
- The Town Hall & the Castle of Good Hope, the oldest colonial building in the country.

Told through storytelling and character rather than a list of dates.

Duration: 3–6 hours, flexible · Under 2 hours walking.
Meet at: Iziko Slave Lodge, cnr Adderley & Wale St.
Group: no minimum · private on request · English & isiXhosa

Includes a registered local guide, all entrance fees on the route, and optional interior visits to the Slave Lodge or Castle. Meals, drinks, and hotel collection available on request.
