Urban Wetland Nature Walk

Colombo became the first capital to be recognized as an International Wetland City by RAMSAR in 2018. Within a 3 km radius near the Sri Lankan Parliament in Thalawathugoda, we’ll explore three unique wetland sites: Beddagana Wetland Park, Kotte Rampart Park, and Diyasaru Park.
These urban wetlands are rich in biodiversity and serve as peaceful sanctuaries for wildlife and nature lovers. As your guide, I’ll take you along nature trails through marshlands, butterfly gardens, and up to a bird-watching tower. Along the way, we’ll look out for species like the Fishing Cat and Civets, and you’ll learn about the wetlands’ ecological value, local history, and unique flora and fauna.
We’ll meet at the car park and begin our walk through one of the selected parks, with opportunities to spot and photograph wildlife in their natural surroundings. The tour ends as we return to our starting point.
