Visão Geral do Tour

Enjoy the beauty and magnitude of the Museum of Fine Arts in Seville, the second-largest art gallery in Spain.

Together with a professional guide, learn the history and life behind each work of art (sculpture or painting) that the museum displays through its galleries.

All this is a perfect environment such as the old Convent of La Merced, located in the heart of Seville (Plaza del Museo), built in the 13th century and remodeled in the 17th century, being able to enjoy not only the various exhibitions but also the wonderful Renaissance and Baroque architecture that includes the Museum of Fine Arts of Seville with its various cloisters, highlighting the Claustro de los Bojes and the Claustro Mayor.

The building has been a museum since 1835, then called the ‘Painting Museum’, with works from convents and monasteries seized by the liberal government of Mendizábal.

Join our tour of this great unknown, but incredible place in our city and discover all its secrets and the motivations of the artists who, with their works, decorate such a beautiful monument in the Historic Center of Seville.

We had a tour taken to visit the Museum of Fine Arts in Seville because I had a very good experience of a tour with another company that I did years ago also for this museum. The guide had no idea about the paintings or sculptures there, she told us 4 facts about the building itself and some history and little else, the rest of the tour was to describe the paintings WHAT WE WERE ALREADY SEEING OURSELVES and when we asked her about the meaning of such an element or such an artist, she gave us detours or answered absurdities that came to her mind at the time. In some paintings he even made up the meaning of some things (luckily we later read the sign that accompanied the painting and it REALLY explained why). All in all a total failure: don't waste your money and try another company that has certified guides who are art historians or have REAL and VERIFIED knowledge. Or else put on a podcast or YouTube video and listen to it on headphones while viewing the painting or sculpture, you will learn more.
