The most interesting sites in the Minya region are:
- Beni Hassan: Located 22 km southeast of Minya city (45 minutes by car), this site dates back to the Middle Kingdom of ancient Egypt (11th & 12th dynasties). The tombs are beautifully decorated and belong to the monarchs of the 16th nome of Egypt, the "Oryx nome."

- Amarna City: Located 65 km southeast of Minya city, this site dates back to the New Kingdom, during the era of King Akhenaten and his beloved queen Nefertiti (18th dynasty). It has many spots to visit, including:
