During our outdoor visit (entrance tickets to the Oceanogràfic, the main exhibitions of the Science Museum, the Queen Sofía Opera House, and the 3D cinema are not included), we explore the masterpiece of internationally renowned architect Santiago Calatrava.
To fully understand Calatrava’s work in Valencia, it is essential to consider the former riverbed of the Turia River. This area is now home to the City of Arts and Sciences, the most iconic image of 21st-century Valencia. Here, we discover the Oceanogràfic (the aquarium designed by Spanish architect Félix Candela), the Prince Felipe Science Museum, the Umbracle (a landscaped promenade), the Hemisfèric (IMAX cinema), the Àgora building, and the Queen Sofía Opera House.
Without a doubt, this is Calatrava’s most influential project in Spain. It has transformed the surrounding area and has become the city’s main attraction, drawing visitors from all over the world.

We took this tour with Enrique, we were together with a Spanish family and the explanations in two languages were not a problem, the tour is very nice and probably without Enrique's explanations one would miss many curiosities concerning this majestic work of Calatrava. In short, money well spent and we return home with the knowledge that we did not just take a tour for photos, but that we understood what this work is for the city of Valencia.
