Señorío De Coyoacán: The Old Colonial Towns
Of Southern México City
Panoramica del tour
Let’s take a walk through one of the most beautiful zones in the city and even in the country, visiting three former colonial villages, before prehispanic settelments and now beautiful neighbourhoods (Coyoacán - Chimalistac - San Ángel), while we talk about Mexico, its history, geography, food, culture and its myths and dark sides.
We’ll walk quite a bit (around 6 kms), with the freedom to make detours along the way and have diverse conversations; and if there’s time, we can even find something to eat and have a traditional mezcal tasting at the end of the tour. We will visit up to 7 colonial churches, a former monastery (including mummies), and some other historic places.
The general agenda is defined, I’ll suggest some options during the tour, and you’ll choose. If you can’t reach a consensus, I’ll choose the places. This isn’t a fixed tour or an expert explanation about history. It’s a walk with a very well-informed Mexican who loves his country, knows about Mexican history, culture and geography and will guide you through a very nice experience in Mexico City, resolving your doubts and giving you some recommendations to do. The tour's duration could be around 5-6 hours.
