Cologne today is a city full of culture, music, drinking, and happiness where everyone is welcome. But it hasn’t always been that way. On our Dark Side of the Dom tour, you will explore the gloomy side of Cologne’s past, focusing on the city’s Medieval history with a few jumps to some of its more recent history. During the evening, we’ll head through our center city from our meeting place in front of the "Trattoria L'Ancora" at Heumarkt. Be prepared for witches, ghosts, murderers, and just the pure misery of living in Medieval Times. The only tour of its kind in English!

On August 4, 2026, we had a very nice tour guide named Wolfgang, who shared lots of historical facts, rumors, and tall tales about Cologne with us in a very entertaining way. Thank you so much!!! We found the tour’s title, “The Dark Side of the Cathedral,” a bit confusing. In our opinion, it had absolutely nothing to do with the cathedral itself, but rather focused exclusively on the city’s history.
Very nice and informative tour and silly at the right times.
Despite the large cast, it remains captivating and entertaining right up to the end
interesting but long-winded at times
