This tour takes you around the narrow streets of Mdina, Malta’s old capital city, focusing on its depiction in numerous movies and TV productions over the years, from the 1928 British silent drama Bolibar - one of the earliest movies shot in Malta - to the 2023 epic Napoleon, and the popular TV series Game of Thrones.

Having successfully retained its historic character, Mdina resembles a giant, ready-built film set and has not surprisingly contributed to Malta’s long history of filmmaking. Since the very first movie to be shot on the island in 1925, over 100 feature films have been partially or entirely filmed here, bringing some of the biggest movie directors and film stars and leading to Malta being described as 'Hollywood in the Mediterranean'.

Join us on this latest tour to learn how Mdina was transformed into the fictional city of King’s Landing, a fortified Spanish town during the Peninsular War, and even a 17th century Jamaican port city. See where some of the biggest names in Hollywood stayed whilst filming here, including the likes of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Orlando Bloom, and Sharon Stone, all whilst enjoying the ancient charm of Malta’s old capital city.
