I am Jewish, and know a lot about the history of the Jewish community in Spain, but I still learned a lot from the guide. She was knowledgeable, went deeper than I expected, and even challenging us, in a good way, like a good teacher. Covered aspects of the three religions and how they affected each other. Highly recommended! The other thing… I bought the ticket through Oway tours, and paid 37 euros. But then it became a trip with Free Tours. I don’t know if I fell for a scam… what I know is that I would have preferred to tip the guide with a large hand!
Super good
As a whole they deserve the qualification of excellent, especially your guide, I think his name is Diego.
Thought the information about Jews living there was pretty thin for a paid tour that focused on the Jewish area. What were they known for? What caused Isabella to change from "protecting" them to forcing them into exile or be killed unless they converted? How did others pick up for the jobs that the Jews had done once they were forced to leave? What is today's attitude among Jews about coming back to Spain? Would they be welcomed? Where was the Jewish cemetery? What happened to it? Since Jews couldn't take gold or silver, what happened to their belongings? What happened to the Torah scrolls in the synogogues? Our guide was very nice, but didn't ask where people were from or make any attempt to engage us. If this was a free walking tour, I would have been disappointed but that's life. I expected a lot more information and professionalism for a paid tour.
Magnificent immersion in the history of art by the hands of a magnificent guide.
