Free Tour: Rione Sanita—Street Art and Urban
Regeneration
Resumen del Tour
Hi! We’re the team at Around With a Local, true Neapolitans through and through. With our tour leaders, you’ll explore the Rione Sanità, one of Naples’ most fascinating neighborhoods: a journey through the sacred and the profane, noble palaces, street art, and deep-rooted traditions.
Our goal isn’t just to tell you about the past, but to help you understand modern Naples through urban regeneration and the character of its residents. You’ll discover how the community has transformed old stereotypes and vulnerabilities into resilience, creativity, and pure energy.
In about 2–3 hours, we’ll visit:
- Porta San Gennaro
- Palazzo dello Spagnuolo and Palazzo San Felice
- The murals of Totò, Troisi, and De Filippo
- Piazza Sanità and the statue of Genny Cesarano
- Basilica of Santa Maria della Sanità (San Gaudioso Catacombs NOT included)
- Chiesa Blu dei Cristallini
In addition to the excitement, this will be the perfect orientation: we’ll give you practical advice on how to get around, optimize your time and budget, and avoid tourist traps, while pointing out where to enjoy the true specialties of Sanità. We look forward to helping you experience the truest and most authentic Naples!
(Tour runs with a minimum of 6 participants. With fewer than 6 people, the fixed cost is €80 to be split among the participants)

An excellent tour!!!!! It was interesting because it told the story of both the past and the present. The atmosphere in Sanità was wonderful, and it was great to explore the city in small groups. And what can I say about Edoardo? Simply amazing!!! Thanks again!!!!
Hi, we took this free tour with our 6-year-old. The tour was a bit long. It was certainly interesting, but not very engaging for a child.
Well done, Edoardo, for taking us on a journey through the culture and daily life of Naples. Thank you so much
A very interesting tour of the Rione Sanità neighborhood, offering a glimpse into the authentic side of Naples. Edo was engaging and passionate. We had to take the tour in English because there were no slots available in Italian, but it was still easy to follow. One small point: I would have appreciated a few more details about the Catacombs and the Basilica of Santa Maria della Sanità. Highly recommended!
A pleasant surprise—an exciting journey into the heart of Naples that truly enriches your soul. Our guide, Valeria, was fantastic and engaging—a truly lovely and friendly person. Thank you ????
