Die Moliceiro-Boote sind seit Jahrhunderten ein Schiff für die Ernte und den Transport von Moliço (eine Art Seetang) in der Ria de Aveiro. Damals konnten sie mit dem Segel, der Stange oder dem Schlepptau bewegt werden. Eines der markantesten Merkmale dieser Boote ist ihre Verzierung.
Sie sind mit Malereien verziert, die fast immer satirische oder komische Alltagssituationen darstellen. Heute werden diese Boote nur noch zu Freizeitzwecken genutzt und befördern jährlich Tausende von Touristen durch die vier städtischen Kanäle der Stadt Aveiro.

You will not meet Rossana, the guide, but you will be directed to Aveiro no Coração - Passeios de Barco for a boat tour. The advantage of this company is that it is located on one of the branches of the canal (still close to where the other companies are) so you won't end up with a large group of people like on the other boats. The route is the same. Miguel on the boat was very informative. I recommend.
