For the first time in my many travels to egypt my driver Mahmoud was petfectly on time. Along the way to town we picked up my (personal) guide Heba, a very sweet young lady. Not really a professional guide (which she doesnt claim to be, to be perfectly honest) who told me some general stuff about Hurghada. Her sweet personality makes up for her limited knowledge. On the other hand i didnt book this tour to get the full history of Hurghada, i just wanted (on a cloudy afternoon) get a ferl of the town and its highlights. And thats exactly what i got : we leisurly visited the biggest mosque, the fish market, the newly (and overly touristy) builed Marina. The driver was ponctualky waiting for us after that and drove is to the emblematic view point. I was given the choice to go to a “bazaar” or not and since i had to go yo the toilet i agreed, not to buy but to use the bathroom. Of course they sell the same stuff as everywhere and i assume that the guides get a commission on the sales. Hey, live and let live !! Then we went to the coptic cathedral and we finished in the fruit- snd vegetable market. Since i was alone we visited all of this a bit faster than advertised but nowhere was i rushed. Heba let me set the pace. I am completely and totally satisfied with this tour since i saw all that i wanted to see and i was perfectly picked up and dropped in front of my hotel snd was charmingly hosted by my guide. What could you ask more for?
