Egyptian Museum
Tour-Übersicht
The cemetery of Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, is considered one of the largest cemeteries of antiquity and stretches over more than 60 km. The Pyramids of Giza are the last surviving of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
The imposing pyramids of Giza are the tombs of the kings of the 4th Dynasty of the Old Kingdom. We will then enjoy a walk among the pyramids to the Sphinx, the cemetery’s royal guardian. Its lion-shaped body lies in front of the second pyramid and protects the pyramids (3 hours).
In the afternoon, we’ll visit the New Egyptian Museum (GEM), which, with over 100,000 works of art, is the largest museum in the world. The statue of Ramses II greets us right behind the entrance to the museum, which is set to be among the most-visited museums by 2025.We’ll enjoy the explanations of ancient Egyptian history as we take a journey back in time to explore ancient Egyptian society, religion, and the statues of the kings and queens. Afterward, we’ll explore the golden headdresses (approx. 5,530 pieces) of the young King Tutankhamun, along with his complete burial goods and his famous golden mask (4 hours).
