Spent the day with Abanoub yesterday at trash city and Jesusland. The tour massively exceeded expectations and was without one of the best tours I've done in Egypt or in other countries. If you want to see behind the scenes of trash city or views that others won't. Then Abanoub holds the keys. 10/10
organziation was a bit messy . i did a late booking - had to pay in advance - but then apparantly there was not enough people so cancelled. but all went ok he made himself available and i got a great private tour
Abanoub gave great directions to the meeting point and a helpful introduction. We were interested in this tour when we learned the background story of the Mokattam Mountain and Saint Simon the Tanner. Abanoub walked us through this beautiful site. It was fun to see and climb to the top of the pigeon tower. Garbage city was really informative and it was good to interact with the residents working there, including the kids! Overall we learned so much in a perfect blend of observation oand activity. Thank you, Abanoub!
Great tour. Things I never thought about. Informative and fun. Highly recommended!
This tour is so different from any tour that you got in Egypt: from the cave church with local community playing (not touristy place) to garbage city where so much lives of hardworking man and woman going on. Abanoub is an excellent guide who gives you the local experience that you probably won't get anywhere else. The only issue is that as it's garbage city, the street smelt very bad ... but that's quite expected and not unbearable.
