International House, Broad Street Place, Bath, England

No minimum stay required. Bath YMCA has been rated at a 3*** plus hostel by Visit England for 2012/2013. The YMCA is centrally located, just a stones throw away from all the major tourist attractions, tempting shops, sensational restaurants, Bath Rugby, pubs, clubs and award winning parks. If you want to be in the middle of it, then the YMCA is the location for you. The old Victorian building is at least 130 years old and overlooks the bustling Broad Street. It houses our dormitory accommodation for groups, backpackers and holiday makers. It also boasts a rather unusual mural on the grand main staircase. All guests have access to single sex bathroom facilties throughout the range of accommodation and all areas have secure access, ensuring your safety at all times. We do not have ensuite rooms but there are separate male and female showers and toilets that have recently been refurbished. All our single, twin, triple and quad rooms have been refurbished, delivering a higher standard of hostel room in Bath. All our house rooms are accessible by a key fob. Staff on the 24 hour reception are nearly all locals who know Bath inside out. So we can help you plan your stay, organise and book tours or recommend a place to eat or visit. We will let you know what's on, where's in and what to avoid and what's unmissable in Bath. Guests at the YMCA also benefit from access to our fantastic health and fitness centre, with a great gym, a wicked range of classes for those of you who want to sweat, tone or relax, sauna, sunbeds and the friendliest gym staff you are ever likely to meet. So, if you are travelling but want to maintain your fitness programme or just chill out in the sauna - we're the place for you. If you are travelling in a big group we can also offer conference facilities/meeting rooms further catering etc - just ask and we will do our best to deliver! We can accommodate over 200 people a night, so whether you are travelling alone or in a big group; old, young or with children - we have the bed for you. Alongside the warm welcome, we also offer: Light breakfast in the price (cereals, toast, jams, coffee, tea, juice, fruit and yoghurt) Cooked breakfast available at a very reasonable cost Linen included in the price 24 hour staffed reception Internet access Laundry facilities Towel Hire No lockout/curfew Credit/debit cards accepted Security lockers/left luggage Conference facilties Fantastic health and fitness suite City centre location Children/families very welcome Bike parking No smoking Tel/fax facilities Extra pillow in wardrobe A warm welcome We do not have a self catering kitchen although we do provide a micro wave and hot water when our restaurant is closed. “Extremely unhygienic”

We’ve both stayed in hostels before and in fact my wife had stayed in this one previously with no problem, so this wasn’t our first rodeo. You don’t expect a 5 star experience at a hostel but there...

This was my first time staying in a hostel and for I first time experience I think it went well! The YMCA Bath is right in the city centre and also right next to a Waitrose so you can’t beat the...

“Cheap and convenient”

Like being in the cat D wing in prison, tolerable but with some major downsides. Pretty much all the toilets being "out of order until tomorrow" when you get up in the morning is not ideal...

Directions: From the bus or train station walk north up Manvers Street. Go past Bath Abbey on your left and, keeping the river Avon on you right, continue via Orange Grove (on left)and High Street to Walcot Street or Broad Street. There is an entrance to the YMCA from either after 300 metres, and we are almost opposite the Hilton Hotel. This is just 6 minutes walk. We are located in a courtyard area with two entrances one from Broad Street (next to a hairdressers) or Walcot Street (close to Harvest Food Shop) up a flight of steps. There are signs on both streets indicating the YMCA.
