The walls of Alcázar has seen multiple events in centuries of history, such as the preparation of the War of Granada by the Catholic Monarchs and their first meeting with Christopher Columbus. Subsequently, it was adapted to have many uses, including headquarters of the Spanish Inquisition and prison.
Its beautiful gardens are the favorite place by the locals and foreigners to celebrate civil weddings in the city. Besides, huge Roman mosaics, and even Arab baths built by Alfonso XI for his lover Leonor de Guzmán, can be found inside this fortress.

La visite était super, nous avons passé un bon moment avec la guide Claudia qui nous a tout expliqué à merveille.
Le temps n'était pas très bon, il a fini par pleuvoir dans les jardins et nous n'avons pas pu en profiter. Nous reviendrons, avec un meilleur temps et moins de monde, et nous vous chercherons !!!!
L'Alcazar de Cordoue est un endroit à voir absolument. Nous avons réservé une visite guidée et notre guide Lydia a été formidable, elle nous a donné des détails très intéressants sur le sujet, nous a raconté des histoires fascinantes sur l'histoire du lieu et est restée de bonne humeur malgré la chaleur. Les jardins sont exceptionnellement époustouflants, nous sommes très heureux d'avoir fait cela !
