Our very knowledgeable and helpful guide took us on a cultural tour of the Medina, highlighting all aspects of local life: food, religion, and customs. Even the few stops at historic shops did not involve any pushy pressure to buy anything. With our guide, we were able to enter buildings that are normally off-limits to visitors or difficult to find.
Good tour, but I recommend avoiding the "sales pitch" at the carpet shop and the perfume shop. Tourists are tired of being subjected to these pushy sales tactics. When you choose a tour guide, you do so to learn about the life, customs, history, and interesting facts of the place you’re visiting. You don’t need “suggestions” on how to spend money unless they’re specifically requested. The time spent at those two shops could be better used to make the most of the tour.
We waited for the guide from 9:45 to 10:30, but no one showed up. I demand an immediate refund of the 4-euro deposit. P.S. You could at least have let me know that the tour wasn't going to happen.
