Stories of Ghosts & Mythology Tour
Tour Overview
Welcome to the dark side of Bucharest. Close to the Old Town, but still away from it, there are strange things happening. Be aware, there might be some uninvited “locals” joining us for this tour. As this place was inhabited more than 2000 years ago, the city has witnessed too many deaths, murders, mysteries and, if you pay attention, you will hear the voice of the underworld almost everywhere. The tour takes you to haunted houses and places and tells you the relevant stories from the history of Bucharest. Fear not, cause Bucharest has also positive stories with gods, good ghosts, and other mysteries. Oh…let’s not forget Dracula, he also seems to be present here, given his very strong connection with the city and its past. Not to mention that we had a real vampire in the 70s, so prepare to discover his amazing story.
Note that the tour does not enter any of the haunted houses.

What an interesting insight into the traditions, myths and legends of Romania! We thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you!
Our guide Rareș took us on a late night tour around the backstreets of Bucharest whilst regaling us with stories of witches, funeral traditions and, of course, vampires. I found the stories much more interesting than the places, and overall this was a good way to spend the evening.
The tour of "Dark Bucharest" was well worth it. Lavi is a wonderful guide who shared the legends and stories in a very personal way. I definitely recommend it!
Good guide, funny stories.
Honestly, I was counting down the minutes. I could tell my guide was passionate and knowledgeable, but the content was LAME. No good ghost stories (and they were very long winded) and after they were told our guide would give an explanation for how they could be debunked using science. It took away any imagination you could muster during the stories themselves. I’d have more understanding if I was someone who wasn’t easily spooked, but I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to scary stories. Ugh.
