Essaouira built by The Alawi Sultan Sidi Muhammed Ben Abedallah in 1756. The creation of ESSAOUIRA was for purpose to make trade with European nations.

The Sakala of Kasbah is designed to push away the maritime attack, is established by a platform. It consists a series of rooms which firmly intended for the storage of ammunition and weapons.

Essaouira is also known by the yearly Festival of Genaoua organized by the most famous Singers of this kind of music (Maalam).

You can’t visit Essaouira without seeing the handicrafts shops, magnificent articles made by professionals craftsmen, specially works of art made in Thuy, a very famous cedar wood in this region.
