Walking Tour: Basilica of Guadalupe & Miracle
of Tepeyac
Tour Overview
This is the most important place of pilgrimage in Mexico, which receives, only on 4 days of December, more than 11 million pilgrims each year.
Our meeting point is the statue of Pope John Paul II, next to the Old Basilica.
From there we will go up the hill, and we will talk about the history of the place, as well as its religious tradition.
From this viewpoint, if the weather is favorable, a great view of the city opens up.
We will then visit the Cerrito Church, the Tepeyac Garden, the Pocito Church, the Old Indian Parish, the Old Basilica, and the New Basilica.
This is one of the must-see places in Mexico City.

Arturo is passionate about what he does and is a really cultured and talkative person. He had us all the time attentive to all the stories that he was telling linked to each other, and he stayed longer than the stipulated time. Great person and great guide. Highly recommended!
The tour was very good! The guide transmitted a lot of knowledge of the historical context. Very interesting and entertaining! Very friendly and well prepared!
I didn't have great expectations, mainly because only little is written in guide books and in blogs about the Basilica. The reality: this is an amazing, important, moving site that is so important for understanding Mexico's history and that of the CDMX.! I am so happy that I made this tour with Arturo. Arturo is an excellent guide, knowledgeable, patient and passionate about the Basilica, its history and its meaning to Mexico and to its indigenous people. The fact that I'm a non-christian did not detract anything from the experience. Thank you so much Arturo for allowing me the privilege to be guided by you.
The Basilica of Guadalupe was the most important thing on this trip to Mexico city from South Korea in early Mar, 2024. Because I am a catholic and the Basilica is one of the meaningful places for catholic. My tour experience with Arthur and Juliana was very exceptional. Arthur was an expert of Mexican Catholic history and cultural heritage. And he was such a good storyteller, so I still remember many interesting things related to this basilica. Moreover, he was a singer as a member of mass choir and a lot of experiences with this Basilica, so I could imagine and experience more than I saw at this time and season. And these every things were connected to the miraculous apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe which was a highlight of this tour. I thought I could be fully inspired when I saw the sacred with the stories though this tour with Arthur rather than I toured by myself. I definitely, wholeheartedly recommend this tour for those who will visit the Basilica of Guadalupe to understand and to be fully inspired by this sacred miraculous event.
Very well knowledgeable tour guide. We really enjoyed the tour of the Basilica and he had really interesting stories to tell
