Private Walking Tour of Basilica de Guadalupe
in Mexico City
Tour Overview
Join our private walking tour to get to know the Basilica de Guadalupe, one of the most visited religious destinations in the world.
Located at the foot of the Tepeyac Hill, this Roman Catholic Church, basilica, and National shrine of Mexico houses the cloak containing the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The 1709 shrine was built in the place where the Virgin Mary is believed to have appeared to Juan Diego, one of the most venerated saints in Latin America. The current basilica structure, which now contains Juan Diego’s cloak, was completed in 1974. This site is also known as La Villa de Guadalupe or, in a more popular sense, La Villa, and has several churches and related buildings. One of the most important pilgrimage sites of Catholicism, the basilica is visited by 20 million people every year, especially around 12 December, Our Lady of Guadalupe’s Feast Day.

Our Guide was very friendly and gave us a lot of interesting informations. Thanks for that and for doing the Tour Just for us! It was very good and we would definately recommend it!
I got to the meeting point 15 minutes sooner and saw nobody there, and waited for another 10 after the time scheduled. The guide didn't sent any messages saying that wouldn't be there, so I waited for nothing.
