Old Riga Tour in Italian: History &
Legends
Tour Overview
During a walking tour of our old town, we learn a brief history of Riga and German, Polish, Swedish, Russian, Independent and Soviet times. The end of the tour will be the Freedom Monument.
The Cattedrale, the Church of San Pietro, the Powder Tower, fragments of the defense walls, the Three Brothers, the Stock Exchange, the Church of San Giacomo, and the Swedish Gate are all important points along the narrow streets and paved squares.
Legends will tell how Riga was founded, what ancient river Riga had, where there may be treasures of Templars, and who is forgiven by Riga ghost.
What is the meaning of blackheads and black cats? Don't forget the Riga coffee recipe and find out who and why it is on the church towers.
Nobody leaves our city indifferent.

Customer Reviews
Our guide, Nelly Saraceno, deserves praise because she did a great job of telling the story of Riga and describing the sights. Way to go, Nelly!
The guide was well-prepared, and the tour was very enjoyable (I recommend allowing an extra half hour beyond the estimated time)
The tour is very helpful for getting a better sense of how to get around the city and learning about its main points of interest.
We were four Italian families visiting the city of Riga. The tour guide was very helpful in introducing us to the city’s main landmarks as well as Latvian customs and traditions. We really appreciated that Nelly, our guide, waited for the rain to let up and allowed us to finish the tour without missing a thing. Truly commendable. Thank you.
The tour was simply perfect. Nelli explained the history of Riga’s main monuments in great detail. She engaged the participants and was really friendly.
