Tour Overview
We will have a unique opportunity to ride along the ancient Roman Appian Way, 2300 years old.
We will see an ancient tomb, Roman statues, the ruins of a circus, as well as the imperial palace. Furthermore, we will see the famous Christian catacombs and pagan mausoleums.
Next, according to the plan, we have a ride along the ancient Roman aqueducts towering over the fields. We will drive through the picturesque countryside, which will not leave you indifferent. Such famous people as Byron, Goethe, and Stendhal were impressed by this beauty.
It will be an unforgettable tour of absolute beauty. After all, not every day you can visit a unique environment, with untouched nature, free from modernization, which serves as a backdrop for the continuous passage of historical, cultural and artistic events.
-This tour also includes a guided visit into the Catacombs of St Callixtus (or St Sebastian).
-On Wednesdays, the Appian Way tour has a duration of 6.5 hours
-This tour doesn't include any food or drinks; however, the route offers a few possibilities to purchase some food or drinks (which can be consumed during a suitable break).

A relaxing day outside of the city
We were a couple visiting Rome, primarily for a rugby match, but wanted to make the most of our few days there. This bike ride was a brilliant day out - helped by the sunny blue sky, we saw areas of Rome that we would never have found on our own. Our guide Arina was excellent, she safely guided our party of 9 through the city out into wonderful parkland. Her knowledge was excellent, no question went unanswered. The main sights for this tour - the Appian Way, Catacombs and Aqueduct were all fantastic - I certainly learned a lot! The tour was rated as "intermediate", but the pace was quite leisurely and the bike power helped on the few small hills we encountered. We covered about 18 miles in 6.5 hours, with plenty of stops - the pizza place to top up our carbs for lunch was cheap and very tasty. Would highly recommend this tour, and would use this company again for other tours.
It is one of the best tours I have ever taken. I recommend it to anyone who simply wants to have an unforgettable experience.
