Budapest Christmas Markets Tour
Tour Overview
Christmas in Budapest is a magical time that transforms the city into a winter fairy tale filled with lights, scents, and traditions. On this tour, you’ll discover this festive atmosphere accompanied by an official Spanish-speaking guide.
We’ll start at Ferenciek tere, where you can soak up the essence of imperial Budapest. Amid illuminated streets and decorated storefronts, you’ll learn how Hungarians celebrate Advent and the arrival of St. Nicholas. You’ll also get to taste the delicious kürtőskalács, the country’s most traditional sweet treat.
The walk continues through the majestic Párisi Udvar and the elegant Váci Street, where traditional Hungarikum products—symbols of Hungarian heritage—abound. At Vörösmarty Square, home to the city’s most famous market, you’ll discover traditional dishes like töltött káposzta and bejgli, and learn about the legend of the Gerbeaud pastry shop.
The grand finale takes place in front of St. Stephen’s Basilica, home to Europe’s most award-winning market, featuring a 3D light show, an ice-skating rink, and the traditional szaloncukor candies that have adorned Hungarian Christmas trees since the 19th century. A unique experience to celebrate Christmas like a true local, surrounded by history, sweets, and traditions.

Customer Reviews
Everything excellent, the guide was very friendly and interactive
In this tour the guide explains perfectly the Hungarian Christmas customs while taking a walk through the areas and Christmas markets of the city. As a strong point to highlight the surprises of the guide to invite us to several typical products of the city, but I would emphasize that we lacked some more information in general.
Alejandra is exceptional, magnificent. I loved how she did it and how she explains everything with enthusiasm and knowledge. Thank you
