Tour Overview

This is a self-guided exploration game crafted by a passionate local storyteller and played along the bustling waterfront of Hamburg. You will explore 13 different locations while following the story of a Sephardic Jew seeking refuge and searching for a stolen recipe tied to the city's docks. At each location, you'll solve a real-world puzzle by searching for clues on monuments, graffiti, and facades. The route hugs the waterfront and pairs historical facts with legends passed between residents. Perfect for history buffs, mystery lovers and urban explorers.

Starting from Landungsbrücken, the stops are spaced an average of around 250m apart, with each location taking around 10 min to complete. The route also passes through Stintfang, Jan Fedder Promenade, Grasbrookpark and Speicherstadtmuseum. At each location, you'll solve a challenge and receive instructions for the next chapter.

DISCLAIMER: You will explore by yourself using the Questo app on your phone. No physical guide or stranger groups will be involved. The full route covers approximately 3.5 km (2.2 mi) and takes around 2h to complete. You can play it any day, at any time. Languages available: EN, DE.
