Off-Road Tour: Hidden Rainbow Mountains & Gareji
Cave Monasteries
Tour Overview
This eight-hour expedition takes you into a landscape most tourists never find. We leave the paved roads and the large tour buses behind, using a capable 4x4 vehicle to reach the most remote corners of the Georgian semi-desert.
The journey focuses on the Rainbow Mountains, where the mineral-rich earth creates colors that feel unreal. Because we use off-road vehicles, we can access ridges and viewpoints that are inaccessible to standard transport. You will also explore the 6th-century David Gareji monastery complex, including hidden caves featuring ancient frescoes.
Our groups are strictly limited to six people to ensure a personal atmosphere and a steady pace for the 4km hike. The day includes a traditional village lunch in a remote setting, far from the typical tourist trails. This is a rugged, authentic trip designed for those who want to see the wild side of Georgia in a professional, well-organized setting.
Lunch at Udabno Village and personal expenses are not included.
