DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR GUIDE!!! I had booked the Rio de Janeiro Rocinha Favela Walking Tour for 2:00 PM. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. Throughout the entire morning, I sent multiple messages to the tour guide through the app and received no response. I arrived at the designated meeting point at 1:45 PM and tried contacting the guide again—still no reply. I waited until 2:40 PM, which was 40 minutes after the scheduled start time, and no one showed up. There was absolutely no communication, no explanation, and no effort to inform me of any issue. This is unacceptable, especially for a confirmed booking where a deposit had already been charged. I trusted that the platform works with reliable and professional guides, but this experience seriously undermined that trust. In addition to losing the tour, I also spent funds on a taxi to reach the meeting point, which turned out to be completely wasted.
GL the guide is just fantastic ! He was born in the favela, knows everyone and everything about it !!! The tour is fantastic, GL took us during more than 4 hours thru the favela. We will never forget !
