Tour Overview

This is a self-guided exploration game crafted by a passionate local storyteller and played outdoors, in the real world. You will explore the city across 10 iconic locations while following a historical mystery story set during the Great Plague times in medieval Vienna. At each location you'll be solving a real-world puzzle by searching for clues on various elements such as monuments, facades, and engravings. The game is mainly focused around Vienna's historic first district and includes many locally-known facts that simply cannot be found in a guidebook or a browser search.

Starting from Ruprechtsplatz, the stops are spaced an average of around 280m apart, with each location taking around 5-7 minutes to complete. The route also passes through the iconic Stephansdom, the historic Griechenbeisl tavern, and the grand Hofburg Palace.
