During early 1900's Ayvalık had played an important role in international, overseas relations by having French, Norwegian, English, Italian and Greek Ambassies; fortunately this building had been used as Embassy of France where many serious decisions had been taken by the French Colony in town. The writing 'L Union d'Paris' stands still as a withness it that historical days on the top of outdoor gate. Over 3 centuries resisting to the time, building keeps all original specialities up to date.
